Manager, Software Test Engineering

Description of Position: This individual is responsible for Managing a Systems Integration Testing Team. Develop, implement and manage processes that mitigate risk in production via solid testing procedures including: Scheduling, Configuration Management, Environment stability, Software testing methodologies

Responsibilities:

Managing Testing Team (50%)
Reviewing functional test plans/scenarios, as well as project design, architecture and requirements documents (20%)
Monitoring & controlling projects (20%)
Status reporting (10%)

Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Position Qualifications

Education/Experience:

BS degree in Information Systems, computer Science, Web Systems or other related degree
Master's degree preferred
7+ years direct experience in design, development, test and implementation of automated test cases
3+ years of experience leading automation initiatives for applications in a large-scale environment, preferably for an ISP
5+ years experience working with business and Development teams to ensure a products are ready for release
Experience in project planning, project management and critical path scheduling
Expertise in programming and scripting languages (Java, Perl, C++, TCL/TK, C shell, etc, )
Experience with formal automation tools and methodologies
Excellent understanding of Internet protocol suites
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
3-5 years experience using Microsoft Office suite of products (Visio, Word, Project, Power Point, and Excel
5 years experience using HP Mercury Quality Center desired
5 years experience with End to End testing a plus
3-5 years experience in the cable and/or phone industry field
3-5 years experience with formal testing methodologies and system/software failure analysis
Solid understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is required
