Manager-Technical Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for overall maintenance of plant as well as day-to-day performance of fulfillment, maintenance and construction personnel.

Compliance with FCC, NCTA and OSHA/WISHA regulations and preparation/maintenance of federal, state and company-required records and reports.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Oversee and guide work activities of installers, service technicians, and maintenance. Conduct regular meetings and develop direct reports in leadership, communication and coaching skills.

Ensure the availability, competence and safety of technical personnel through optimum selection, effective training and development, and successful motivation techniques.

Demonstrate commitment to employees through clear direction, ongoing support and feedback, and recognition for personal growth and professional accomplishments.

Provide highest quality video/audio output to subscribers through the effective direction of maintenance, installation, service and overall technical/engineering functions. Consult with vendors on equipment problems. Order repair parts. Assure integrity of fiber management and return path certification.

Communicate across functional areas and keep senior management informed of all issues affecting technical operations.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma plus specialized technical training equivalent to 2 years technical school or the recognized equivalent in work experience and self-study.

EXPERIENCE:
Five or more years of technical operations experience within the cable/telecommunications industry encompassing approximately five years of progressive responsibility and a proven track record managing large groups. Excellent communications skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities.
