Manager Technical Operations - Alexandria, VA & Woodbridge, VA
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall maintenance of plant and facilities. Supervise and coordinate daily job functions of Chief Technicians, Line Technicians, to assure work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
MAJOR DUTIES: (May perform any or all of the following duties.)
-Coordinate work activities of installation, service, line and maintenance personnel.
-Ensure competence and continuity of qualified installation, service, maintenance and head end staff through optimum selection, training and development, appraisal and motivation techniques.
-Provide highest quality video/audio output to subscribers through the effective direction of maintenance, installation, service and overall technical/engineering functions.
-Install and maintain head-end sites. Consult with vendors on equipment problems. Order repair parts. Maintain records and drawings on all equipment. Assure integrity of fiber management and return path certification.
-Manage, train and develop the requisite number of technical support personnel.
-Assure FCC compliance in all areas; maintain federal, state and company required records and reports.
-Keep management informed of all issues affecting technical operations.
-Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
-Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Other degreed candidates with applicable experience in networking or system integration can be considered.
Experience:
-3-5 years experience in system integration in a networking environment
-Demonstrated understanding of Motorola or Scientific Atlanta headend RF and data networking preferred.
-Exposure to RF networks
-Able to use test equipment: spectrum analyzer and network analyzer
-Proven analytical and problem solving skills
-Excellent oral/written communications skills
