Job# 180194: Manager, Segment Marketing (Product & Communications) Manager Segment Marketing works for the Director of New Products and is responsible form developing new value propositions and consumer messages to drive overall growth of the postpaid business new customer growth, retention and revenue. The Segment Marketing Manager is responsible for the following activities: * Develop a deep understanding of consumers' needs, attitudes and usage of wireless. * Monitor competitive activities and market trends to understand impact and identify opportunities * Partner with leadership to define value propositions (products and messages) to achieve business goals and fulfill strategic vision. * Develop and execute the marketing strategy for value propositions based on consumer needs, competitive reality and T-Mobile's strengths. * Work cross functionally to drive new products-- including product design, product positioning, branding and naming, and pricing. * Develop and implement strategic marketing communications plans to support value propositions. * Measure and report on key success metrics - gross add, retention and revenue and advise on best practice marketing strategies to drive results and ROI * Interface with brand, product marketing, product development, customer care and sales teams to ensure that products, communications and processes reflect segment needs People/Positions Interactions * Consumer Insights * Integrated Marketing * Outside agencies * Product Development * Customer care / Care Training * Sales/Sales Training * MP&A and FP&A Functional/Technical Skills - Consumer focused decision making - Ability to think strategically and apply given strategy and/or common business knowledge to recommendations and rationale - Ability to execute with thought and attention to detail, with managerial direction (versus dictation) - Ability to communicate effectively - Goal oriented achiever who balances results with attention to values - Strong consumer communication skills - Effective communicator and presenter, with ability to influence cross functional partners - Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in team environment across multiple functions Experience * Marketing professional with 5 years experience. * 2-3 years experience in Consumer Marketing. * Experience working with outside agencies to develop messaging/advertising. * Experience in requesting, managing and understanding consumer research.
