Intrado is currently searching for a NOC Operator for our Longmont office.
Responsible for providing a variety of basic technical customer support duties related to Company products and services in accordance to departmental guidelines and in a timely and accurate manner; monitor and correct network connectivity to PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points) providing proper operation of the data processing and database retrieval environment; support basic network and system Tier I support issues ensuring critical process monitoring procedures are followed; participate in the activities associated with a variety of departmental projects including preparing reports, material, documentation, and coordinating tasks
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
Provide a variety of basic technical customer support duties related to Company products and services (e.g., basic hardware, software, network, connectivity, peripheral, etc. ) in accordance to departmental guidelines and in a timely and accurate manner; monitor and correct network connectivity to PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points) providing proper operation of the data processing and database retrieval environment; provide a single point of contact for customers needing Tier I problem resolution for a variety of product issues ensuring resolution and documentation of issues are resolved in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner; resolve “live” and general client issues and technical problems, over the phone or email, escalating those issues outside of employee’s control to supervisor; execute the NOC Operations checklist, as required; open trouble tickets relating to issues and document customer interaction, issue, root cause, and resolution of situation; handle all communications with a sense of urgency and professionalism ensuring customer satisfaction on each account
Education
High school diploma required. Associate's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field or a Programming Certificate from a recognized institution is preferred. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
Minimum one year experience with mainframe computer operations, technical support or similar work environment required.
Technical Knowledge
Windows 9x/NT knowledge required
Working knowledge of at least one command line operating system required
Basic understanding of data communications and networking in a WAN environment required
Advanced knowledge of Windows based platforms required
Knowledge of Unix, HP OpenView, Prognosis Operations, and Network Node Manager preferred
Other
Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Access required
