National Account Manager I
Responsible for managing existing enterprise accounts, growing Covad revenue within these accounts, as well as customer satisfaction and retention. This sales position requires a track record of proven strategic sales success to medium and large businesses, an in depth knowledge and understanding of broadband services/DSL and VoIP. The role of the National Account Manager will be consultative and ongoing, providing a single point of contact to the customer for all current and future broadband and VoIP services. Additionally, this role will support the efforts of Sr. NAMs in prospecting and identifying new opportunities.
I. The National Account Manager will be responsible for all sales activities within their assigned account base to ensure that quotas are achieved.
Strategic Priorities: NAM will be responsible for identifying new opportunities within their assigned accounts and working with marketing and other direct distribution channels to maximize that opportunity, lower cost of acquisition, and increase revenues.
Building the Base: NAM will be responsible for continuous communication within their assigned base of accounts to 1) educate the customer, 2) grow the revenue base, 3) achieve excellent customer satisfaction and 4) retain the customer.
Identify New Business: Prospecting for new opportunities to transition to Senior NAM.
II. The National Account Manager position requires the highest level of professionalism, both internally and externally, ensuring that sales targets are met and customer satisfaction is ensured. Professionalism includes, but is not limited to:
1) excellent communication and presentation skills,
2) professional appearance and demeanor,
3) demonstrated leadership capabilities
4) the ability to effectively control and manage an account
Position Accountability: Achieve assigned quota and revenue targets within COA objectives.
Effective Knowledge of telecommunications, data communications, networking, applications, internet industry, including competitive knowledge from an industry wide perspective.
• Highly effective account management, presentation and closing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a compelling and professional sales presence.
• Proven ability to work effectively and successful from a home office environment with minimum supervision. • Proven track record of uncompromising ethics and integrity. -BA / BS required. Business or related field preferred. -5+ years of field sales/selling experience, preferrably in a technical environment Highly successful track record in selling to distributed enterprise/national accounts and complex selling environments.
