Position #1
Network (SAN) Architect Needed in Redmond, WA!
PROJECT:
This project will support compliance associated with technical architecture standards within the Network Infrastructure Systems (NIS). You will help support the national data centers by researching and documenting requirements to put hardware into the data centers.
SKILLS NEEDED:
· Technical Architect (Storage/SAN/NAS/Backup)
· Highly-skilled Storage Area Network (SAN) architect and systems engineer required. The successful candidate will define standards and the requirements for integrating, managing, and supporting SANs/NAS in a telecom environment.
· Candidates must have excellent communication skills, written and oral.
· Leadership and decision making skills are required to be successful in this role
· Looking for Current Knowledge in the areas of enterprise storage area networks and enterprise data management - this is a must.
· - Familiarity with a variety of vendors and their products:
- EMC (storage arrays)
- HDS (storage arrays)
- StorageTek (tape libraries)
- Brocade/McData (fabric directors/switches)
- OnStor (NAS gateways)
- VERITAS product family (VxFS/VxVM,NetBackup,VCS,CFS)
- VMware familiarity would be a plus.
DUTIES:
· The candidate should be able to communicate effectively with architects, engineers and datacenter staff to successfully implement the detailed design. This project will support compliance associated with technical architecture standards within NIS Platform Management. You will help support the national data centers by researching and documenting requirements to put hardware into the data centers. The following tasks will be Included in the daily responsibilities:
o Perform requirements and impact analysis on existing systems.
o Implement requirements drafted by the systems engineers and platform architects.
o Assist the project teams in translating requirements into detailed technical design, estimating resources, costs, timeframes, etc.
o Create detailed design documentation including hardware configuration, network elements, SAN assignment, and power distribution requirements (PDR).
o Interact directly with SUN representatives to obtain and review quotes.
o Apply in-depth understanding of Sun Solaris environments and associated products.

Position #2
System Engineer/Capacity Planner
SKILLS NEEDED:
· Experience in Network Management via SNMP (1 year)
· Perl programming and UNIX scripting
· Experience with at least one of the flagship Service or Performance Management or suites such as: Computer Associates (eHealth), BMC, OpenView, Telcordia, IBM, etc.
· System level or capacity planning experience in any of the following: Solaris, EMC DMX storage, SAN, or Oracle. Experience in Solaris System Administration.
· Thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN topology.
· Must have strong experience in statistical analysis and Queuing theory.
· Developed written and oral communication skills.
· Developed organizational skills.
· Must work well in a team environment
· Working knowledge of SQL and/or Oracle
· Bachelor Degree in a Computer Science, MIS, or related field of study.
· Preferred certifications are: Sun Certified System Administrator, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate, EMC Storage Administrator
DUTIES:
The Systems Engineer Capacity Planner is responsible for the research, analysis, documentation, and presentation of capacity metrics for all NIS platforms. The NIS platforms to be analyzed include: SUN and Windows, and a variety of storage systems. The IT Capacity Planner is responsible for evaluating and projecting impacts of actual or proposed changes in hardware and software structures; estimating growth for the demand for application services; and regularly presenting the current and projected system capacities to management. This individual will also coordinate with the various platform operations groups in support of maintaining existing metrics and in the development of new metrics. The Planner will develop code to support the collection and manipulation of data metrics and will provide high-level analysis and technical insight into information systems capacity

POSITION #3
Unix System Platform Engineer
PROJECT:
Our client is looking for a team player that knows and understands Unix System Engineering. This project will support compliance associated with technical architecture standards within NIS Platform Management. The candidate will be required to perform requirements and impact analysis on existing systems and implement requirements drafted by the systems engineers and platform architects. The candidate should be able to apply in-depth understanding of Sun Solaris environment and associated products to create the detailed design which includes hardware configuration, network elements, SAN assignment, and power distribution requirements (PDR)
SKILLS NEEDED:
· Recent experience with current Sun hardware line including X86 architecture
· Solaris operating system experience
· Excellent understating of Sun Microsystems hardware and interaction with EMC & HDS arrays.
· Experience with advanced System Administration tasks
· Ability to write clear documentation and review documentation
· Ability to perform QA work requiring attention to details.
· Experience with Network and SAN Topologies and Theory of Operation.
· Understanding of SAN concepts and terms (configuration experience a bonus)
· Knowledge of intermediate networking concepts
· Experience as a Field Engineer working with Sun Departmental and Enterprise class Product Line (Servers, Storage, NAS, and SAN) - nice to have but not a requirement.

HIGHLY DESIREABLE:
· Solaris Certification
· Working knowledge of LAN/WAN topology
· Working knowledge of Access, SQL, or Oracle
· Associate or Bachelor Degree in a Computer Engineering/Programming related field of study
