Network Installation Technician

 Technician will remove equipment from box at point of use – generally inside a data closet, assemble sub-components, install plug-in circuit modules and power supplies in switch chassesInstall mounting hardware, install assemblies in equipment racks in data closets and equipment cabinets located on the factory floorsInstall patch cable assemblies in cable management enclosures and make connections (plug-in) between switch modules and patch panelsPower down and remove old equipment as directed from racks and enclosuresDispose of surplus packaging materialsPrepare disconnected equipment (surplus cables and components for transport). Box and label as requiredEnsure data closets and other work areas are clean and orderly following installation of new equipment and/or removal of old equipment

 Vocational training and certificate in an approved telecom course of study or equivalent work experienceGeneral knowledge of how to properly handle electronic equipment to avoid damage and ensure safetyBasic computer skillsFamiliarity with email and Microsoft OutlookStrong technical aptitudeGood communications skills – verbal and writtenExcellent problem solving skillsAbility to self-manageReliable and timely

Wage - $18 to $20 per hour DOE
