Location: US-GA-Atlanta Requisition ID:  REQ49170386 (Post ID:63635100) Job Level:  Experienced (Non-Manager)The Nortel Services organization needs network integration professionals with knowledge of the following technologies:   Nortel CDMA, Unix and TCP/IP BSSM/BSC, 1xRTT, EVDO, CBRS and CPDS strong MTX background or strong BSC background. *** PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ******************************************************************************************* This is a contract consulting position working directly with Nortel managers through Nortel’s US payrolling partner. Consultant will provide a laptop computer. Selected individuals will attend CSVS training. ****************************************************************************************  This position requires extensive travel. The work consists of Nortel CDMA Packet-MSC Integration. Successful candidates should have a strong MTX background or strong BSC background. Network Integration, part of the Services organization, provides on-site technical expertise to integrate Nortel’s wireless CDMA products. The organization has intimate knowledge of wireless network configurations that allows it to quickly resolve technical issues. As the CDMA Network Integrator, you will continuously travel to integrate and configure a variety of components into the wireless networks of Nortel’s CDMA customers. You will work on voice and data networks and provide on-site technical support for customers. As a Nortel representative and a subject matter expert, your actions will impart a lasting impression of Nortel’s commitment to its CDMA wireless customers. You will be expected to:♦ Travel within the 50 states and Puerto Rico 100-percent of the time♦ Mentor team members♦ Integrate and configure various sophisticated components into existing networks♦ Upgrade CDMA elements within customers’ in-service networks♦ Troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve network integration issues♦ Evolve current voice networks into data networks (1xRTT and EVDO)♦ Monitor network performance♦ Transfer technical knowledge to customer♦ Interface with customers’ technical personnel regarding network project activities♦ Write technically sound, daily reports♦ Follow Nortel procedures and work from integration specific documents♦ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of wireless technologies.♦ Actively participate in teams Your day-to-day activities: You and your team will spend about 80 percent of the day integrating and configuring various components into existing networks, interfacing with customers’ technical personnel regarding network project activities, and actively participating in teams. You will continuously communicate with your team and with customers’ technical personnel regarding network project activities, and mentoring your junior team members is a never-ending engagement. Every day, you will spend about 30 minutes writing technically sound, daily reports to customers and multiple Nortel groups and another 30 minutes at the end of your shift monitoring network performance. Occasionally, you will upgrade elements of the network, troubleshoot and resolve network issues, modify current networks, and read, investigate and research Nortel procedures and integration-specific documents. You will have learned something new about wireless networks and technologies by the end of every job. While traveling, you will typically stay in hotels for projects of short duration and in corporate apartments for projects of longer duration.
