General Information
Job Description: This is an enterprise opportunity in Hawaii. We would prefer a local candidate but will use an out of market candidate if they meet the customer requirements.

Nortel Networks:
Advanced Voice & Data communications skills Advanced IP Networking skills Basic telephony skills Advanced UNIX skills Callpilot operations & maintenance Symposium operations & maintenance Call Server configuration, administration, operations & maintenance BCM configuration, administration, operations, and maintenance
Microsoft:
In depth knowledge of Windows - MCSA certification Advanced IP addressing skills Advanced Subnet masking skills Default Gateways - DNS configuration, administration, and troubleshooting skills Hands-on Active Directory experience Minimum of 12 months experience Designing, implementing, administering, networking, and managing an existing Windows 2000 or 2003 network infrastructure.

GENERAL ASSISTED OPERATE RESPONSIBILITIES Nortel Networks assisted operate service delivers a customer-defined skilled resource to the customer's site to aid in many aspects of maintaining and operating their Nortel systems. As a member of this team, the individual will be called upon to travel to sites and perform the duties outlined in the service scope of work. This scope of work may vary widely depending on the customer's needs and requirements, but should encompass many of the following areas:
* Providing daily/weekly/monthly preventive and routine maintenance
* Demonstrating the performance of tasks required to administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Nortel Networks-provided hardware and software
* Providing recommendations for enhancing the performance and increasing the effectiveness of maintenance activities
* Demonstrating the use of job aids (such as checklists and records) and advocating the use of product-related resources such as documentation libraries and help files
* Explaining possible responses, courses of actions, and task flows that should be considered when events that could adversely affect service quality occur and assisting with problem resolution
* Interpreting and using customer-provided job-specific documentation such as network diagrams and specifications, call statistics, trouble reports, policies, procedures as required to support the implementation and the delivery of services
* Understanding and following the customer's proprietary and confidential information security policies and procedures
* Keeping customer operations staff informed about the potential impacts of critical system events and high-priority maintenance activities
* Providing maintenance activity reports and evaluations operational capabilities
