Operations Manager, RoamerNet Managed Service

The Operations Manager will be responsible for Systems Operations and Administration of the JDSU RoamerNet managed service which will include support on this service of a large number of JDSU customers for the service. The primary role will be to operate and manage the system, and to act as a Liaison between the customer and JDSU. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for developing/updating the operational processes and suggested changes in the system and hosting arrangements in order to provide a secure and reliable operation including development of backup and recovery plans.In order to do this, Operations Manager will need to work closely with the rest of the JDSU team including Support, Engineering and Sales. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, management skills, and customer management (communication and organization) skills.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Administer and Operate the JDSU RoamerNet Managed Service - Setup the system as required by each customer for periodic testing scenarios and generate and transmit required reports as defined in contracts- Work with the RoamerNet Program Manager to insure that all customers are configured correctly, that testing is being performed each month as defined in contracts and purchase orders, and that the customer invoicing process is correct in terms of test configurations and test volumes based on the contractual agreements..- Provide first line of Technical Support to the Customers of the RoamerNet service in coordination- Provide database maintenance and management of customer data per customers requirements- Capture customer feedback on JDSU Solution Enhancements and advocate these enhancements within the RoamerNet group and JDSU- Advocate and articulate JDSUs Solutions within the specified customer- Assist customer sales representatives and sales engineers to identify new opportunities inside existing customers of the serviceQualificationsRequired Qualifications - 5+ years experience providing system administration and technical support in a solution oriented software and/or hardware environment- Windows 2000/2003 server(including IIS) expertise (MCSE Preferred)- 3+ years database management experience (MS SQL Server Preferred)- Software and script development experience is a plus- Demonstrated ability to listen, solve problems and provide reassurance to internal and external customers.- Proven track record of managing customer projects to completion.- Successful history of onsite customer support and administration.- The ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical individuals.- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Bachelor s degree in engineering, or comparable work experience in a related technical field
