The successful candidate will provide day- to-day support of the critical Oracle Financials software packages and any future applications for SouthernLINC. This includes performing upgrades, testing, problem tracking and resolution with vendors. The Applications Analyst/Developer will also: · Gather and document user requirements for new and existing development projects that require customized programming · Translate user requirements into functional designs and technical specifications to assist code development. · Design and develop programs that follow standards on appropriate language used on development projects. · Support internally developed programs and any other code that requires programming changes to be made locally. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Applications Analyst/Developer will be responsible for day-to-day support of SouthernLINC Wireless’ financial systems leveraging the Oracle Financials toolset. Responsibilities include ongoing production support for daily and monthly financial activities by providing functional and technical analysis, troubleshooting, and technical support for the business. This includes managing problem tracking and resolution with the vendors, and successfully supporting production upgrades and system changes. This position will also work with customers and team members to implement and integrate solutions that address business requirements and may require detailed analysis, system design, coding, project management, testing, implementation, documentation and design reviews. The scope of work assumes intimate functional knowledge of Oracle Financials and experience in effectively designing and implementing development projects that require programming, developing programs that follow corporate standards using appropriate tools and platforms, and supporting internally developed programs and any other code that requires programming changes to be made locally. Minimal after hours support may be necessary. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Requirements: BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Experience and Skills Requirements: · Strong communication skills including ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders at an appropriate level of detail · Customer service focused with the ability to effectively organize tasks, manage multiple priorities/details, meet schedules, and deliver on customer commitments · Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills · Ability to develop simple, elegant solutions to complex problems · Experience with Oracle Development tools and web programming languages such as Java and XML. Some experience in JSP, Active Server pages, Java Servlet, C, C++, VB, or .NET is desirable but not required. · Ability to work independently as well as with a team · Minimum of 3 years technical experience with Oracle Applications Release 11i with a specific focus on GL, AP, AR, OM, PO, INV, and System Administration. Experience with Oracle Workflow a plus. · Minimum of 3 years of business functional analysis experience in the design, development, customization and implementation of financial applications using the Oracle toolset. · Extensive experience in Structured Query Language (SQL), PL/SQL, Oracle 8i/9i/10G, Oracle Reports Builder, Oracle Forms Builder, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle XML Publisher, SQL*Loader, TOAD, SQL Navigator. · Experience with the full life cycle of application development and delivery of enterprise-class software solutions. · Ability to quickly learn new technologies and applications · Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and reporting requirements.
