Oracle Database Administrator

The successful candidate must have a broad experience in a variety of positions focusing on database administration. Must be able to perform the roles of a technical lead with direct experience in technical implementation and support of system deployments. Additional experience with project coordination, user support, training and documentation are required. In addition to strong interpersonal skills the applicant must possess strong leadership skills coupled with strong analytical skills. This job will require deployment and support of development and QA internal environments with strong emphasis on production environments.

? Will be using a wide variety of operating systems and software on a RedHat Linux platform spanning across multi-tier client/server environments
? Transcribe and provide instructions for DBA processes into scripts which can be run by Jr. Members.
? Create, support and maintain development, QA environments with strong emphasis on production environment
? Manage internal projects (e.g., installations, planning upgrades of existing hardware, redistribution of servers, setting standards for installations)
? Highly proficient at tuning database
? Debug problems
? Modify and configure vendor software
? Propagate Oracle software and configurations to multiple systems
? Support production processing (e.g., debug problems, answer call tracking requests)
? Install/configure and support Oracle and its schemas
? Aid SA in the area of system monitoring, troubleshooting utilizing Oracle and UNIX tool suit
? Monitor and maintain network security in conjunction with network administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
BS or BA Degree or experience in related fields. Master's degree in a related field is preferred

Specialized experience with the application(s) to be administered will be considered in lieu of academic training.

EXPERIENCE:
Five or more years of experience in all of the following areas: Oracle maintenance, data modeling, database performance tuning, PL/SQL programming, partition management, and work on a team in which custom (in-house) software must effectively interact with an Oracle system
? Minimum of 4 years hands-on scripting (pl/sql) with samples of work
? Demonstrate strong knowledge of monitoring/tuning of Oracle applications (OraPub, Oracle tool box)
? Strong skills with sample configurations for high availability (e.g. RAC)
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills
? Strong knowledge of integration points and 3rd party interactions
? Excellent oral/written communication and inter-personal skills
? Knowledge of Cable System concepts and systems is desired.
? Detail oriented and able to manage timelines and meet tight deadlines.
