PQA Test Engineer
Responsibilities:
QA Field Response Test Engineer will be responsible for all testing activities throughout the Maintenance Release Life Cycle.
The QA Field Response Test Engineer is an essential link in the product development and deployment lifecycle and will work closely with the QA Team Lead, Test Analysts, Release Coordinators, Developers, Product Management and Customer Engineering to assure a high level of quality in product systems through active project participation for test planning, test execution and problem resolution.
The QA Field response Test Engineer will be a strong technical authority on the system and responsible to provide quality software to the field. Analyze/reproduce field issues and create test scenarios to validate the Fix and regression areas. Identify impacts of bug Fix on the system and validate the impact of fix on other components or areas of the system. Analyze, create and execute tests to validate Reliability and Performance requirements of the system. Develop wide system understanding and provide technical support.
Estimate and scope work. Follow comprehensive test strategies and plans based on requirements and specifications with consideration of database impacts, risk assessment, functional scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error/bug retests and usability. Create well-defined, reusable test scenarios for new applications and enhancements.
Prepare test environments and test data. Per test cycle, execute tests, track results, and document failed tests in the defect tracking system and proactively communicate the results of the testing exercise. Report status/progress to Team Lead, release coordinators and project team members as needed. Participate in post-implementation reviews. Ensure compliance with established testing procedures and methodologies. Maintain test suite libraries.
Requirements:Bachelors degree or higher in EE, CS, or related Field. At least 5 years experience in a software development/Support environment, which includes a minimum of 3 years in software testing. Strong experience with Unix/Linux Systems. Experience testing on Oracle with emphasis on backend testing. Experience testing/supporting complex Billing systems. Expereince with PERL/Shell Scripting. Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills. Experience in technical design analysis: ability to understand, analyze and provide feedback on business requirements, software requirements, use cases, design specifications and other project related documents. Experience with defect management processes and tools. Ability to anticipate problems and risks and take corrective action when needed.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills on a technical and non-technical level. Ability of learn new feature and technologies in a limited time frame.
Desired: Wireless and SS7 signalling knowladge or experience with CAMEL, GPRS, USSD. Knowledge/Experience with c++ or any other Object Oriented Language. Experience in Field Support of complex telecom systems. Experience with OSA/SOAP. Experience with Mercury automation tools. Experience with Reliability and Performance testing.
