Major Duties & Functions:

Key duties include:leads efforts to assess performance tradeoffs of different architectural or design decisions including development of strategies for lab testing assess performance and capacity impact of new features on existing product base, including test case design and execution provides problem identification and resolution guidance and assistance for system related performance problems at Telcordia client sitesprovides computer performance support to customersdevises tactics and techniques to analyze customer computer usage data for tuning strategies and computing hardware forecasting and for performance test case evolution, and validation of computer performance modelssupports Principal Performance Analyst in the development of algorithms and construction of capacity planning models in support of existing OTS customers and for prototyping.

 

Qualifications You Must Have Technical expertise in client server computing platform, performance engineering test development and analysis, and capacity planning skills needed.Expertise in HP/UX and/or AIX operating systems as well as Oracle and SQL Server DBMS required.  Proficiency in performance testing/analysis and profiling tools such as SilkPerformer, JProbe, Glance and MeasureWare and SAS, UNIX shell and/or Perl required.Ability to quickly develop programs using UNIX shell and/or Perl.Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines with limited supervision required.

 Additional Qualifications:Candidate must have analytical thinking abilities, strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent organization and planning skills.  Must be able to effectively work as part of a team and interface with managers in development, test, and sales organizations.Candidate must be able to effectively manage and perform several high priority tasks at once and quickly respond to requests for performance data in high pressure situations.
