Phone Collections - Part Time
Location: Bethpage, NY 

 

Multiple positions available.

 

Schedule: Mon-Fri 5PM to 9PM

BASIC FUNCTION:
Support the collections process through the telephone collection of outstanding monies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct research of customer accounts including itemizations and response to customer correspondence. Perform research, adjustments and applications of customer accounts of moderate complexity as required. Resolve lockbox reconciliation discrepancies. Reconcile posting and bank deposits. Administer and maintain all check by phone payments including end of day process and ACH batch exception review. Enforce the Non Pay Restart policy by evaluating all accounts, across the Cablevision footprint, pending restart with outstanding debt or pending installation with outstanding debt. Maintain DBS Winback errors by evaluating and tracking all accounts that have been removed from the DBS program for compliance and reinstatement. Exceed minimum standards and meet operational goals for the collection of monies. Work assigned accounts and adhere to all Company and Departmental policy and procedures. Process and document credit card and check by phone (where applicable) payments on a daily basis. Perform any and all administrative tasks relating to the collection of outstanding monies by ensuring documentation is complete and accurate. Inform other Departments of any and all issues that may extend beyond the purview of the position for the purpose of ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Performs such duties as the supervisor and/or manager may from time to time deem necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualified candidate for this position will have 1+ yrs. experience in a Call Center environment (Customer Service, Sales or Collections) or other work with extensive phone experience. Excellent listening skills and patience required. Strong organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required. Working knowledge and skills of computer software, utilizing windows based software (Microsoft Work, Excel and Access). High School Diploma or equivalent required.
