Power Installer Level IV

Job Summary:   AFL Network Services has an immediate opening for a Power Installer IV in the Florida panhandle.  Reporting to the Operations Director, the Power Installer IV is responsible for installing/modifying DC power distribution equipment in an in-service environment. This is a permanet position. Hours are Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm, though flexibility is required. The position will require extensive travel.    Primary Responsibilities: · Run and secure cables and jumpers· Read and understand DMOP/SMOP· Work from job specifications, drawings, and applicable manuals under instruction and direction of site IC/OSWF· Measure and mark floors from floor plan drawing· Position and assemble ironwork and cable rack in an existing environment· Assemble frames and miscellaneous hardware, etc.· Drill floors and install anchors· Level, align, secure and ground bays· Properly perform designations under instruction and direction of IC· Assist in installing miscellaneous equipment, earthquake protection, end guards, etc.· Install bay mounted AC outlets and light fixtures· Test and wire alarms as required· Perform “Hot” work as required· Addition or removal of connections/terminations of power on non-working equipment· Lead verification, continuity tests· Analyze job specifications, drawings and other job documentation· Provide work assignments and instructions to crew members and evaluate their performance· Conduct MOP meetings and prepare forms as described in appropriate customer standards· Resolve job specification and drawing problems with appropriate engineer· Resolve material problems· Correct central office records/drawings· Perform and document in-progress and final quality inspections.· Understand, adhere to and promote the environmental, health and safety policies of AFL Network ServicesRequired Skills:  · Associates degree in Electronics is preferred· At least five years of DC power installation experience· Knowledge of and experience with Tyco, Emerson Peco and C&D power equipment· Proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel· The ability to prepare and execute an MOP or SMOP flawlessly is required!
