Process Engineer

We currently have an immediate need for a talented and dynamic Process Engineer on our 1st Shift!

 

Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, develops, qualifies, implements, and controls production processes while utilizing leading edge disciplines to reduce process variations, minimize waste, improve quality and productivity, ensure safety, and reduce cost.  Duties will include documenting process and material requirements used in the repair and refurbishment of wireless handsets.  Will be responsible for ownership of specific key processes and their controls.  Must be familiar with relevant industry standards associated with electronic repair and assembly.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Monitors productivity and quality indicators to ensure conformance to specified requirements and standards, and initiate improvement methods.Performs failure analysis and corrective action responses for non conforming product.Examines and suggests improvements for existing tooling, processes, equipment, controls, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.Participates in New Product Introduction reviews to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability.Develops necessary process or material specification documentation and assists in the training of manufacturing operators.Conducts material, product and process qualification and capability studies utilizing FMEA.Research and implement innovative new process technologies to improve material yields as well as equipment productivity and reliability.Performs other duties as required.

 

 

Prerequisite Skills and Abilities:BSIE, or equivalent education and experience.5+ years experience in process, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, and well versed in the application of statistics.Familiar with electronic and mechanical manufacturing processes, controls, and equipment.Demonstrated achievements in leading a team(s) and accomplishing process improvements.Must be able to use programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Microsoft Project, and Auto Cad proficiently.
