Title:  Product Services Installation Technician

Department:  Network Operations

Status: Full Time,

Reports to:  Manager Network Engineering/Operations

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Investigate and survey customer locations for voice and data services. Identify existing voice and data equipment including Modems, Fax, Credit Card machines, and Alarm lines.Identify, verify, and understand existing customer voice circuit types (T1, PRI, POTS) and Internet/Intranet/private line connectivity. Use Telco tools and processes for troubleshooting, investigation and verification purposes.Use basic networking techniques (IP) and tools for troubleshooting, investigation, and verification purposes.Install company specific equipment and wiring at customer location including wall mounting and/or circuit extension..Maintain a company vehicle.Maintain daily time records. Interface with multiple company departments to provide information and assistance with, but not limited to, survey, installation, troubleshooting, testing, and repair.Familiarity with C/O based equipment is a plus.

 

 

Required Skills:Must have a clean driving record and be insurable.Understand standard Telco/Data wire color coding and pin-outs.Understand Telco circuit types and testing procedures.Basic knowledge of Internet/IP protocols and techniques.Self Starter with a good attitude.Be able to interface with customers in a cordial and professional manner.Must have outstanding troubleshooting skills.Have Computer skills. Ability to utilize current Microsoft Windows products for email, Internet access, device programming, testing, configuration, and time reporting. Familiarity with Excel a plus.
