Project Control Senior Associate
Black & Veatch is a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company specializing in infrastructure development in energy, water, telecommunications, management consulting, federal and environmental markets. We are seeking a Project Control Senior Associate for a temporary contractor assignment in our Telecommunications Division located in Orlando, Florida. Summary of Position: This position requires 2-4 years experience working in project controls and / or cost engineering. This position will primarily be focused on enhancing knowledge regarding scheduling, costing and concepts related to the telecommunications industry and project management. This position will support and assist senior project control team members, as required, and provide effective monitoring and reporting of budgets, forecasts, trends, actual costs, and performance management of assigned projects. This position will ensure compliance to the Division’s quality and safety goals and objectives. Job Minimum Requirements: Requires 4 year degree, or equivalent work experience Knowledge of telecommunications industry is desired Knowledge of accounting principles required Ability to work independently as well as with others Excellent oral and written communications skills Strong analytical skills Advanced knowledge of project control tracking/forecasting/scheduling systems Advanced knowledge of cost accounting and engineering practices Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook Proficient and skilled in spreadsheet and project management software Adheres to, supports and enhances the Divisions Environmental, Safety, Health and Security Program Adheres to, supports and enhances the Divisions Quality Management SystemPrincipal Duties: Develops and recommends to the project management team, effective cost control and budget management practices Prepares and monitors project schedules Prepares and monitors man-hour reporting Verification of charge codes for purchase requisitions and change orders to ensure proper cost accounting Assist with the development of the Project Work Breakdown Structure and code of accounts, establishment of the budget from the project estimate, monitoring cost and quantities against the budget, forecasting the cost and flag early warnings for corrective action Preparation of cost reports including bar charts, progress charges and curves, manpower plans, equipment and material costs and schedules Prepares cost variance analysis and reports, as necessary Prepares weekly/monthly status reports for Project Management team Prepares and maintains project cash flow forecasting and reporting Prepares project review reports, as necessary Communicate activities with team members and other departments as needed Review and approve payment of vendor and subcontractor invoices Maintain a high degree of customer service and integrity when dealing with clients Other duties or special projects as assigned by Supervisor If interested in this temporary contractor position, please send resume via fax to Theresa Bridges at (913) 458-7677 or email at BridgesT@bv.com About UsEvery project, every day, we are Building a World of Difference®.
