Project Manager (Telecom Carrier)Scope

This position is responsible for all aspects of Project Management involved in the end-to-end product deployment and implementation of location based service products. The Project Manager (PM) develops work plans and timelines for the Execution of the program to support product deployment. This position will manage multiple projects, all activities and teams necessary to deliver projects on schedule and within budget, while satisfying agreed upon customer requirements and specifications within the scope of the project. Interacts closely with Field engineers, RF engineers, system integration, Development, R&D to develop and deliver detailed project documentation, project plans and project implementation schedules. Interacts frequently with customer and equipment vendors to co-ordinate a wide variety of interfaces. ResponsibilitiesManage scope, schedule and cost
Assigns roles and responsibilities for project teams
Identify and assemble resources from all disciplines (Engineering, Operations, Development & other departments) as required
Ability to manage project team and team members in a matrix environment
Create comprehensive project schedules in MS Project and other necessary documentation
Control and track project progress (in Microsoft Project); mitigate negative impacts to schedule and contingency planning
Ensure project execution complies with the approved standards, procedures, and methodology
Facilitates team meetings as required
Monitor timelines and milestones for changes and corresponding project impacts; manage to strategic dates as provided by the Program Office and/or Executive Sponsor
Tracks project issues and develop action plans until resolution
Familiarity of Wireless Carrier environment, OEM vendor- Ericsson, Nortel, and Nokia, 2G and 3G. Switching hardware and software is required
Interface and work with vendors as required on project requirements
Strong communication and presentation skills both oral and written
Consolidate, disseminate, and communicate project information and provide status updates to project team members and Management
Must have strong project management background, excellent Communication skills and the ability to lead a team in a variety of projects
Lead project teams through the entire life cycle of the project, Coordinating interaction with all functional groups

A college degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or any combination of equivalent experience and education
5 or more years experience in project management & large-scale wireless product deployment, cross-organizational project management is plus 3-4 years in wireless telecommunications, working knowledge of the PMI project management principles
Must be proficient in use of computers, especially with MSOffice (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, and Visio)
Strongly DesiredIDEAL Candidate will have a background out of a carrier, plus software experience is a plus, you must know how to deal with carriers
Ideal candidate would be out of T-mobile, Verizon, or any Carrier or e911 company
PMI experience must be practical hands on experience executing and implementing
