Provisioner, Network - San Jose, CA

Position Summary:

The Network Provisioner is responsible for planning facilitating and managing various bandwidth and interconnection services from both 3rd Party network vendors and internally owned/operated AboveNet infrastructure. Will play as significant liaison in coordinating services with CLECs ILECs Data Center POP and MMR operators.

Work with various internal groups and multiple 3rd Party vendors to ensure the timely and accurate installation of all aspects of facilities-based network services. This includes delivery of end-to-end solutions for network connectivity including new metropolitan and long haul network services.

Responsibilities:

•Find optimal creative cost effective solutions by working with network providers for expansion and growth of both AboveNet’s network and customer requirements. Work closely with outside parties and internal teams;

•Responsible for the strategy acquisition implementation and maintenance of relationships with strategic 3rd Party suppliers and partners by applying a unique blend of business and technology experience;

•Managing multiple RFPs for acquiring telecom services. Putting together RFP requirements and release to providers Q & A process for vendor queries evaluate detailed proposals contract negotiations and project management for Implementation;

•Price order and implementing space/power & cross-connects with 3rd Party location vendors;

•Ensure services are delivered correctly cost effectively and on schedule while facilitating communications between all relevant internal and external stakeholders;

•Monitor track and respond to inbound interconnect and service requests; •Coordinate connections with both external parties and internal teams. Play a pivotal role in organizing tracking and implementing network connection requests;

•Escalate vendor issues accordingly when resolution is not achieved within a reasonable amount of time;

•Open tickets provide status updates to internal and external parties and track provisioning of connections and services;

•Assist AboveNet’s internal Voice and IT departments with various telecom service solutions;

•Manage projects with little or no supervision and reports status;

•Maintain activity accomplishment report;

•Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts practices and procedures;

•Develop creative solutions for complex problems;

•The individual must comply with departmental and corporate internal controls and all internal controls processes;

•The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity;

•Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

•Minimum High School. College or advanced education in a related Telecom field is preferred;

•Minimum 5 years telecommunications industry experience required; technical knowledge of network technologies and ancillary infrastructure components;

•Strong knowledge of modern telecom and IP transport services and capabilities;

•A strong background in network deployment circuit provisioning IP networking IT infrastructure or technology deployment;

•Strong knowledge of IP and Telecom Network Operations environments;

•Excellent organization skills project tracking abilities communications skills (both verbal and written); strong focus and attention to detail;

•The ability to juggle multiple competing priorities simultaneously;

•Excellent Internet and computing skills;

•Self supervised and self motivated; •Willingness and ability to work within and between groups smoothly;

•The individual must possess the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity.
