Provide the FAA with telecommunications expertise and task leadership in support of a large FAA contract. Help provide leadership, direction and resolution on telecommunications policies, processes and operational issues. Conduct network performance metrics and analysis as required. Identify underperforming or chronics telecom services. Prepare for and support service improvement and other operations focused meetings. Support post-mortem and lesson learned activies, support telecomm service and diversity reviews, validate service requests, facilitate trouble resolution. May help coordinate the activities of engineers, telecommunications specialists and administrative people in accomplishment of FAA Telecommunications support. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss tasking, schedule, and performance. Facilitates communications between the FAA program office, field operations, and vendor operations. Identifies risks and helps develop action plans to resolve open issues.Candidate must have knowledge of FAA telecommunications and FAA organization and field locations. Experience in project planning tools such as Microsoft Project highly desired. Familiarity with LAN and WAN technologies including microwave, T-1s, fiber optic networks, ATM, Internet, and X.25. This position will require the ability to work directly with the FAA customer and to coordinate with other contractors. Ability to plan and work with people is critical. Moderate travel may be required.Successful candidates must be able to favorably complete a background check with granted Interim Suitability which is required for this position. Bachelors Degree and 8+ years directly related experience. At least 6 years in Wide Area Network technical and or maintenance positions. Former FAA experience highly desired. DoD experience desired. Experience in network technologies: routing and switiching protocols, CISCO technologies, TCP/IP, IPv6, VPN, security design, firewalls, DNS, and network architecture. Knowledge and experience with continuing process improvement techniques, needs analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and technical evaluations and recommendations. RESPOND HERE!
