Report Developer / Jr. Oracle DBA

We are seeking a Report Developer/Jr. Oracle DBA.

SUMMARY

Creates and maintains all reports needed by the Company via database and reporting tools as well as manual configurations.  Participates in all aspects of the IT/IS team as assigned and directed.  Maintains data in Oracle database and some aspects of database maintenance as defined by current need and available resource.  Reports to the IT Manager.  Duties include:

· Report Analysis – Work with end user and Business Analyst to fully understand request and requirements as well as guide the end-user to the best result. Convert the request into database terms.

· Report Design – Create reports using SQL/PLSQL/Function/Stored Procedure/Package, then create Java-based XML files with all the requested including properties like drilldowns, hyperlinks, subtotals, groupings, sorting etc.

· Data Maintenance – Work within the Oracle database by use of Toad or other similar and available software to perform data corrections and data queries to aid in the business processes of the company.

· Report Upkeep - Analyze current report status, make recommendations to reduce report count via consolidation or obsolescence.

· Participation in all IT/IS initiatives in the appropriate role as dictated by the project at hand.

· Continuously staying abreast of current technologies with relation to databases and reports as they pertain to Spencer Technologies, making recommendations to the IT Manager and Director to insure currency.

 

Experience with Oracle 9i and the SQL or PL/SQL programming languages is a must.  Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
