Position:

SOC Engineer

 

Job Description:

Duties include incident handling, incident response and escalation management in a 24x7 environment. The SOC Engineer helps operate and maintain the SOC by tracking and resolving service delivery issues, acting as the technical bridge between the customer and sales, and by designing and implementing various projects that will lead to overall improved service quality and profitability. Further, the SOC Engineer may perform routine actions in order to help manage customer security devices and may be called upon to surge after hours in order for the SOC to handle emergencies. Finally, the SOC Engineer will be responsible for other duties as assigned.

Specific tasks include: Act as the Engineer on Duty Manage Change Requests from Customer Issues Resolve Ticket Escalations from Security Analysts Write and Distribute Intelligence Objects Monitor Correlation Metrics Review Security Updates Act as the Web Portal Administrator Writing Assist with Integration Engineer Duties Assist with Managed Device Engineer Duties

 

Job Requirements: Experience as a Unix or Windows or Network Administrator Expert Working Knowledge of one or more of the following: TCP/IP networking Various Intrusion Detection Systems Various firewall systems Various scanning systems Expert Working knowledge of Information Security concepts Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong customer service skills Experience as a leader in a team environment Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple deadlines Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Ability to communicate clearly with technical staff as well as less technical colleagues Ability and willingness to take on additional tasks as assigned  

Education and Certifications a plus: CISSP Certified GIAC Certified MCP Certified MCSE Certified MS/BS/PHD in Computer Science / Information Systems / Electrical Engineering / Math
