EEO/AAP EmployerThe Senior Software Developer - Mainframe is a highly technical position which will be responsible for completing medium to large projects, enhancements and system support for TDS's custom-developed and packaged software with minimal supervision. This position will also provide subject matter expertise for numerous custom developed and packaged software applications. This position will act as technical lead for system support and/or medium to large projects and will proactively work to improve processes and standards.Responsibilities will include: Develop, maintain and improve ADM's custom-developed and packaged software. Understand and follow established processes to complete assigned work in accordance with established timelines, quality measures, standards and procedures. Generates timelines, estimates and workplans for small to medium projects and/or initiatives. Grow technical skills as they pertain to ADM's development environment through a variety of mechanism including self-training, formal classes and coaching. Makes use of quality improvement techniques, and participates in process improvement and management requests Mentors co-workers on essential ADM custom developed/packaged software, processes and procedures. Required Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Programming, Computer Science -OR- 2 years relevant work experience. 3+ years experience in software development or related field Other Qualifications: Familiar with the following technologies and has expertise in multiple technologies: COBOL, JCL, SQL, PL/SQL, TSO Familiar with the following technologies and has expertise in multiple technologies: FOCUS, ACR detail (Unitech), SQL Forms, Visual Basic 6.0, CICS, PERL, DOC1, Power Builder, Business Objects (Crystal Reports) Participates and acts as technical leads in projects, new enhancement work and system changes Able to coordinate a small group to work specific issues Demonstrates good understanding of estimating procedures, processes and documents. The ability to manage changing priorities and the ability to handle several small to medium projects/enhancements/system changes concurrently Participates and provides input to determining root cause when appropriate Scope of responsibility is managed by employee with minimum input from their manager. Consistently honors promises and commitments and takes responsibility for own actions, words, and work Able to work with diverse individuals/teams/customers. Able to interact and work with others as part of a team. Understands the role s/he plays on the team, and how his/her work supports the team's goals Able to take the lead to get complex issues resolved.
