Currently, the Enterprise Solutions Division (ESD) Group has an opportunity for a Sales Support Engineer Sr. to join our Enterprise Business team located in Calabasas, CA. Job Description: MISSION:  The Central Team Solution Architect’s missions are 3-fold: 1.  Core Expertise — Maintain a high level of knowledge in a specific field of expertise and secure the profitability of complex deals on a nation-wide basis.2.  Regional Sales Support — Support ALU sales and secure the profitability of NA ESD deals, in a blended approach with the local solution architects, where the expertise and capabilities of both parties is leveraged.3.  Partner Mentoring — Manage the skills, autonomy, and professionalism of Business Partner Solutions Architects. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES: - Maintain a high level of solution design skills in a specific domain of expertise while maintaining a general knowledge on the entire Alcatel-Lucent’s solutions portfolio.- Maintain a constant awareness of the features, applications and provisional levels for the current and future product releases.  - Maintain a high level of expertise on all the relevant Solution Architect quotation tools.- Provide knowledge transfer to the Business Partner Solutions Architect population, through workshops, conference calls and/or on a project basis.- Be capable to evaluate Solutions Architect maturity of Business Partner Solutions Architects.- Lead and enforce the required processes in their respective regions and ensure the profitability of NA ESD deals.- Lead and enforce the development of a Solution Description for every major deal in their respective regions.- Be capable of designing, presenting and demonstrating the current and future Alcatel-Lucent product offering to Business Partner Solutions Architects, Customers and Consultants.- Provide Large and/or Complex Solution Support to Business Partner Solutions Architects for projects.- Be the interface with HQ for escalation of solution architect issues from Business Partners.- Proactively promote and engage the pro-services team as required, and in particular for complex projects. MAIN OBJECTIVES:  ·  Secure a high level of profitability of NA ESD deals in each region as well as on a nation-wide basis. Build confidence in the regions about the NA ESD organization. ·  Strive to create Solution architect autonomy in the Business Partner Solution architect community.·  Support large and/or complex and strategic projects, including Alcatel-Lucent global accounts, in-line with the ESD sales strategy and Business Objectives. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE -  Degree in IT, Telecom or a related field-  Products (Alcatel-Lucent or competitors) trained and/or experience -  Data Networking pre-sales design or technical support experience-  Network Security design or consultancy experience-  Previous experience in working with Customers and making offers-  Business Partners / VARs / Resellers experience ASSOCIATED COMPETENCIES  -  Excellent presentation skills-  Ability to work under pressure and multitask-  Ability to adapt your message to suit the context / customer-  High level of motivation-  Team player-  High accountability for results Alcatel-Lucent is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
