Security Investigator
Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing investigations of alleged criminal or other activity that has or may have a negative impact on Comcast. This includes employee or non-employee criminal activity as it relates to Comcast, as well as activity that violates company policy. Investigations involve, but are not limited to; theft of services, theft of company property, vandalism, forgery, embezzlement, workplace violence, assaults, burglary and physical security assessments. Investigative caseload is assigned by management or senior investigators. Scope of Responsibilities to Include but not limited to:- Works with senior investigators/management in performing specific segments of an assignment such as gathering data, conducting interviews, searching records, securing documents, performing surveillance and preparing reports with minimal supervision. - Build and maintain positive relationships with Comcast personnel. - Ensures that all investigations/inquiries are completely objective and brought to a logical conclusion in the best interest of Comcast.- Timely and accurate completion of investigative reports. Must be able to manage multiple types of investigations (Business Integrity Line, Theft of Service/Repeat Offender, Workplace Violence, etc.) at any time, assuming control of high stress investigative situations.- Must be knowledgeable with laws and statutes impacting methods used in successful investigations, and be able to make well-rounded decisions based on this experience.- Development and maintenance of professional working relationships with various law enforcement agencies. Often acts as single point of contact with law enforcement in cases involving employees or customers.- Working "undercover" as needed performing appropriate "sting" operations and or controlled illegal equipment purchases.- Performance of surveillance activities as required.- Ability to use sophisticated video and still photography equipment.- Testimony under oath in municipal, superior and federal court as needed.- Preparation and maintenance of case files, assignment of case numbers and completion of case log books in a neat, accurate and timely manner.- Conducts successful interviews of suspects, witnesses and victims.- Documentation, storage and maintenance of evidence per chain of evidence guidelines.- Communication of investigative information obtained on a need to know basis only.- Operation, securing and maintenance of company issued equipment including vehicles, photo/video gear, tools, pager, cell phone and two-way radios.- Perform various other assignments as required and assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Qualifications:- HS diploma or equivalency required.- Associates degree in Business, Criminal Justice or related field required or prior law enforcement equivalency. - Prior law enforcement/investigative/training experience, with at least 2 years working in the corporate environment is strongly desired - Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) desired.- Multilingual beneficial. Stong Spanish skills desired. - Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance.- Demonstrated written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills.- Ability to analyze and solve problems efficiently and handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision.- Valid state drivers license/acceptable driving record, and ability to pass background check.- Investigative positions are on-call 24x7 and are expected to make decisions at any hour, direct personnel as needed to complete successful investigations. Investigators may be required to travel (10-15%) to meet their goals.Completion of Reid Technique Training of Interviews/Investigation (or Similar Program) desiredPhysical Demands: Sitting and or standing for extended periods of time, lifting 50 pounds, driving long distances, ability to climb ladders.Mental Demands: Reading, writing, interviewing, multiple concurrent tasks, detailed work, reasoning, verbal communication, written communication, customer contact, constant interruptions, negotiating.Comcast is an EEO/AA/ Drug Free Workplace
