We invite you to explore what we have to offer. Senior Database Administrator (DBA) US-GA-Atlanta Description:Overall purpose and end results of this position. RESPONSIBILITIES:* Providing daily (24*7) operational support of TSD production database environment including on call after hour support.* Responsible for production Oracle and MySQL database installation, configuration, administration.* Providing troubleshooting skill for customer's problems and resolving of issues and reporting on all oracle related issues for both NT and Sun Unix/Linux systems.* Coding PERL, Shell (sh, bash, and ksh) scripts to maintain production oracle servers batch jobs.* Coding pl/sql to implement customers' requirement* Managing Oracle objects including tables, indexes, views, constraints, db links, jobs, snapshots etc.* Managing Oracle Networking environment including Oracle NET, JDBC or ODBC etc.* Managing Oracle IFS.* Providing data solution for customers and being able to dump/load data using sqlldr, imp, exp, RMAN etc.* Managing Oracle full database backup, archive log backup and data restore.* Performing database user audit and accounts management.* Implementing data replication and clustering.* Providing documentation both automated and manual.Qualifications:SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:* Deep experience on Oracle 9i/10g and RAC installation/configuration, management and troubleshooting.* Experience with Data Guard installation, configuration, management and support.* Good at database modeling design not only OLTP system but also OLAP/DSS system such as star schema.* Experience working in large enterprise database environments with multiple platforms (SPA) and operating systems (Sun Solaris 7/8/9/10, Linux and Windows 2000). SAN and NAS knowledge a plus.* Hands on experience on coding, troubleshooting and performance tuning Pl/SQL and SQL and complicated reporting.* Oracle Memory (SGA, PGA), Data files (RAID) management and performance tuning.* Excellent programming using shell scripts (sh, bash, and ksh) and perl.* Familiar with RDBMS management tools such as Quest Toad.* Fluent in using RMAN for any kind of backup/restore tasks.* Working knowledge of MySQL versions 3, 4, and 5.* Being able to perform operating system level i/o, cpu, memory and disk troubleshooting and performance tuning tasks using iostat, vmstat, and other tools.* Experience using AWR and ADDM to monitor and troubleshoot system, cpu, memory, disk, and performance issues.* Maintaining user security.* Excellent knowledge on Veritas VM, Veritas cluster and Netbackup operations.* A motivated team-player and fast learner.* Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally to peers and management.* Ability to work under pressure and in high stress situations.Essential duties and responsibilities of this position, the percentage of time spent on each, and key performance measures.* Monitor, maintain, and manage TSD production database environment including on call after hour support. (30%)* Install, configure, create, and upgrade production Oracle and MySQL databases. (15%)* Resolve tickets: troubleshoot customer's problems and issues. (20%)* Code and maintain production oracle servers batch jobs. (5%)* Providing data solution for customers and being able to dump/load data using sqlldr, imp, exp, RMAN etc. (15%)* Managing Oracle full database backup, archive log backup and data restore. (10%)* Providing documentation both automated and manual.(5%)QUALIFICATIONSBS/BA in Information Technology, CIS, MIS, or related discipline and 5-8 years of experience in a DBA roleClear understanding of networking concepts and server platforms.OCP on oracle 8i/9i/10g preferredOutstanding scripting and querying skills.2 years experience with MySQL versions 3 and/or 4 preferred4 years enterprise level production databases support. 2 years experience utilizing RMAN backup. 2 years enterprise database development experience.Knowledgeable of enterprise level applications. Excellent written and verbal skills. Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, technical) rather than managing people.
