Senior Engineer - Product Engineering (SIP Engineer)

Position Summary:  This individual will engineer and support our client's SIP based Communications network. Responsibilities include requirements documentation, design, configuration, and support of SIP based routing solutions including SIP Proxies and Session Border Controllers (SBCs). This individual must have the ability to set up and verify system functionality across multiple network elements and vendors and work with other organizations to test, deploy, troubleshoot, and manage SIP network elements.Develop and implement SIP profiles and routing schemes based product requirements and changing SIP peering arrangements.Evaluate various implementations to determine compliance with business requirements and external specifications (e.g., PacketCable and IETF specifications).Develop detailed designs and configurations to be used by the testing and field teams in deployment. Troubleshoot lab and field issues across multiple vendors.Establish and maintain productive relationships with peer organizations, suppliers and peering partners.Proactively identify service improvement and alternatives that may be beneficial to our client.

Education:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

 

Experience:Knowledge and experience with VoIP SIP technology and standardsExperience configuring and trouble shooting with Acme Packets or SONUS equipmentKnowledge of ENUM standards2 to 5 years of hands on SIP technical experience with SIP Proxies or Session Border Controllers
