Senior Technical Engineer

Location: Santa Clara, CA Relocation Provided: NoEducation Required: Bachelors DegreeExperience Required: 5 yearsPosition Overview:You can be a critical player in Tellab's Customer Operations team! This position involves working with Tellabs' customers in supporting the Company's next generation MPLS Switching products. Ideal candidates should have 5+ years experience in the Networking or Telecomm industry. A background in post-sale customer support is required, including an understanding of routing protocols, network architectures, and transmission infrastructures. Working knowledge of BGP4, OSPF, Integrated IS-IS or other routing protocols is required. Knowledge of ATM, Frame Relay, PPP, MPLS, SONET/SDH, WDM, is a strong plus. Excellent customer relation skills, the ability to make technical presentations, and providing end customer training are necessary. Position requires carrying a pager and being on-call 24/7. Must be able to teach customers new features that come out on the product and support their testing of these features. Travel is also required. Effective communication skills, flexibility, a strong teamwork approach, and the desire to work in a fast-paced start up environment are necessary for success. BSEE/CS or equivalent experience is required. The coverage for this shift is from 3PM-12AM (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday)Qualifications:5+ years experience in the Networking or Telecomm industry.
