This position will be responsible for the ongoing design, integration, performance measurement and growth and testing of consumer wireless ancillary and service platform products with specific focus on voicemail. The daily responsibilities include, performing engineering capacity in the development of voicemail system hardware infrastructures, service platforms, ancillary products, and system parameters. Work with other team members on engineering tasks such as design, integration, performance measurement and analysis, growth, and testing. Work with various groups and PCS markets to ensure project milestones are met and voicemail problems are resolved. Work with vendors to ensure product specifications, accuracy of implementation and quality of operations. Work with Systems Integration teams to ensure the completion of "hands-on" testing and verification of all features and functions of our voicemail systems. Qualifications: Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year technical degree or equivalent. Candidate should be willing to learn various wireless ancillary systems and service platforms and voice network architecture. Candidate should be capable of understanding auditing techniques to analyze the system for load and throughput and recommend actions. Additional formal training in wireless switching systems, ancillary systems or service platforms is a plus. The ideal candidate should be comfortable and experienced with "hands-on" access to wireless switching platforms and/or ancillary and service platform areas such as SMS-C, VoiceMail, data protocols, and general messaging. Specific Knowledge in DHCP, DNS, UNIX, VMS, Oracle, Informix, and SQL desired. Experience with NT, HP Open view, Linux, SNMP, Perl, C/C++. Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or 3 years of experience in the wireless industry in a technical capacity or related industry. Additional formal training and experience in Comverse InSight voicemail systems is desired. Specific knowledge of GSM, SMS, and other messaging systems is a plus.
