Software Implementation Engineer

JOB PURPOSE

The Software Implementation Engineer is responsible for Implementation of AirportConnect CUTE, XP Workstations, Bagmanager Products (Based on IBM Technology) and associated application servers & peripherals, Cisco LAN / WAN Network components and configurations.

 

DIMENSIONS/ KEY Objectives

Collaborate with internal APS technical departments to acquire the latest version software for the system build.

Install, configure, test and document the following components based on input from the Project Manager and users:IBM (Hardware) – AIX (Operating System)IBM - HACMP (High Availability Cluster Management Protocol)Oracle 9i or laterWindows 2003 File Servers & Active DirectoryXP Workstation – Load & ConfigureCisco Router configurationsCisco Switch configurationsSITA Gateway configurationsHPOV Network Monitoring toolsCUSS Self Service Kiosk

Pre-site configuration build and testing of file server-gateway-workstation combination.

Coordinate with airline technical reps to confirm customer requirements.

Coordinate with internal departments to ensure that they have the data required to support the local staff after handover to Operations.

Work with the Site Administrators to demonstrate system functionality for "hands on" experience required to support the operational site.

Complete the Implementation portion of the "Site Documentation" needed for site handover to Operations for cutover.
