Solution Engineering Manager

Responsibilities: Technical lead in projects that design, develop and implement new complimentary services and tools for JDSU products and emerging technologies. Participates in development of business cases and obtaining approvals for capital expenditures for projects Maintains project plan and financials for assigned projects Partners with cross functional JDSU groups, business customers and third party vendors to provide solutions that meet application requirements and the business needs of the projects Accountable for ensuring solutions are aligned with the goals and long term direction of the Global Services organization Prepare and/or coordinate the development of technical documentation for projects, programs, and initiatives related to Services offerings Performs work at the customer site for site surveys, installation, integration, and training. Effectively communicates and turns over solution to production environment and technical support to insure seamless transition Provide supporting technical information to Services Product Marketing for responding to RFPsQualificationsQualification:" Strong project management skills, and the ability to maintain project plans in MS Project " Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks " Ability to connect use of a technology solution to customer economic benefit." Demonstrated knowledge of hardware and software architectures and their components " Working knowledge of Database architectures, SQL and ability to interpret requirements documents and other specifications" Familiarity with creating financial estimates for infrastructure projects, forecasting spend, and tracking financials " Strong leadership and negotiation skills " Ability to perform cost/benefit/risk assessments and analysis " Strong consultation and customer interaction skills " Excellent organization, written and verbal skills " Experience with following skills: - Cisco Networking technologies (routers, switches, wireless, &)- RFID applications and integrations- Software development" Education: A bachelor's degree is required - with a major in Computer Science or another technical discipline such as Engineering strongly preferred. Cisco certifications such as CCNA, Wireless LAN Specialist, and Wireless Design Specialist are preferred as well.
