Responsibilities:Provides advanced application support to customers and technical leadership on test methodologies and product applications within the business unit. The successful candidate will be part of a Product Segment Team working closely with the Product Development Engineers and Product Managers supporting Spirent’s industry leading wireless device test systems. The successful candidate will support new products as well as enhancements to existing products and should be equally comfortable with supporting and working on both the hardware and software components of a system.

An outstanding and well-rounded candidate could also contribute to system design on an as needed basis. This includes the development of product requirements, representation with standards bodies, design of algorithms, and the integration and verification of complex hardware and integrated software system.

• Investigates and resolves complex Service Requests that have been initially investigated by Tier I team and forwarded to Tier II.
• Provides detailed application support to customers, including assistance with customizing test and scripts if required.
• Organizes and provides training for new products and new releases to Tier 1 Application Engineers, Sales Engineers, and Operations.
• Organizes and participates in conference calls with customers, interacts with customers and internal staff.
• Provides assistance for field pre-sales technical support inquiries from field sales personnel, especially Sales Engineers. Trains Sales Engineers on new products or features.
• Prepares application notes, FAQ’s and white papers on products.
• When necessary, identifies the modifications need to be made in the product source code and follows up with the development team regarding the plans to implement the modification in maintenance release.
• Provides products customer view to the development team and product management regarding product usability, supportability, and methodology. Provides feedback and approval for RDS and MRD.
• Per customer experience, creates validation test plans and performs validation tests for new product releases. Provides feedback to the development team.
• Participation into development activities could include on an as needed basis:
o Specification, design, implementation, and design verification of complex
hardware and integrated software systems.
o Definition and verification of system calibration routines and algorithms
o Validation of hardware and system performance for key parameters governed
by Standards specification, product specifications, or other requirements.

Qualifications:BSEE/BSCE required. MSEE/MSCE highly desired

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position or relevant experience in the wireless industry, or equivalent.

Good organizational and time management skills
Good knowledge of wireless technology
Willingness to travel up to 50% of time (domestic and international)
Familiarity with TestStand and/or LabView, or similar tools, and/or Visual Basic or other high level programming languages
Experience with RF test equipment and RF system design desired
