Spacecraft Controller- SES ENGINEERING

Monitor health status for all satellites in operationsMaximize satellite availability and longevity Perform on-orbit trending and analysis for power subsystem. Investigate on-orbit system and subsystem anomalies, including determination of corrective actions. Generate and review on-orbit operational procedures and ground system operational limits. Participate in initial in-orbit checkout and support in-orbit testing.  Develop and maintain software tools for evaluating and trending spacecraft power budgets, solar array and battery performance. Prepare documentation and establish/verify power subsystems functional requirements. Attend spacecraft design reviews and generate/evaluate action items. Monitor spacecraft I&T, environmental test activities and launch site activities. Provide spacecraft system training to engineering and operations personnel.  Travel to vendor sites and SES Engineering earth stations.

Experience and Qualifications:Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering. 3-5 years related work experience required. Background in geosynchronous spacecraft, with emphasis in power subsystems.  Experience with Li-Ion and NiH batteries desirable. Understanding of solar array, battery and power system component design, system parameter trade-off studies and data analysis techniques. Background or experience in Thermal / Mechanical systems would be a plus. Working knowledge of spacecraft test methods and functional requirements, verification, and experience in spacecraft operations. Strong computer software skills required, especially Microsoft Office. Experience in satellite design, Integration and Test (I&T) activities, and/or spacecraft operations preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to provide on-call support, react to contingencies and cope with high stress situations. Excellent communications skills both written and oral, and team spirit. Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder
