Sr. Software Development Manager

ILD Telecommunications, Inc., is a national leader in business process outsourcing services in the telecommunications industry. As a facilities-based provider, the Company operates several divisions which deliver, Direct and LEC billing services, payment processing services, audio and web conferencing, live and automated customer care services.



We are seeking a professional individual with high energy, good attitude and strong work ethic to join us in our Ft. Lauderdale office.

 

SUMMARY

The position requires hands on technical capability in addition to some experience as a team lead or manager.  High proficiency in Microsoft SQL (T-SQL) is critical.  Additionally, this position has daily interaction with business users and customers so good people skills are essential to success in the position.  This is a fast paced business where priorities can change so the individual who seeks this position must be comfortable working with a fexible/changing project plan.  This is a small team enviornment where we expect people to be able to cross train for support in several areas.

Areas of responsibility include; LEC Billing, Validation, and Payment processing products. Work directly with end users to support custom designed applications which include program design, database design, development, quality assurance testing and implementation based on product specifications. This individual must interacts with all levels of management and be able to lead multiple simultaneous projects.



 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the software development team in designing highly available, scalable, database-driven applications using a software development life cycle.. Define, design, and implement, multi-tier distributed applications, adhering to current ILD standard development techniques. Must be able to understand and support Legacy ASP/VB6 applications and help plan migration to modern.NET environment.  Validate operational functional requirements against technical capabilities Develop, test, and release software to the production environment in coordination with the IT group following a change management policy. Ensure proper technical documentation is created and maintained relating to both system features and design as well as production environment configuration. Incident Management: Ensure the rapid appropriate resolution of priority incidents, with direct engagement and oversight of high-impact and mission-critical situations

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, other related degree, or higher plus 10 years experience in the information technology business area with at least 5 years experience as manager or team lead in software development. Must have strong interpersonal skills and solid communication skills; the position requires significant interaction with both the technical IS staff, business users, and customers.  The individual must be a disciplined and strategic thinker who is capable of working without close direct supervision. Must also be a self starter who can effectively manage his/her own time in addition to that of the IS staff. Experience in requirements analysis, design, coding and unit testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant enterprise applications in Windows environments. Experience in Source Code Management tools, and in change management policy enforcement Experience working with IT operations or infrastructure groups and managing large databases in a Windows environment Must be able to mentor, lead and coach through strong team building skills.

Ideally an individual should have a high level of knowledge and skills required in the following systems and software: Microsoft Sql Server (2000/2005), T-SQL, stored procedures. DBA experience a plus. Two and three tier Web development. Microsoft Visual Basic .NET (or C#.Net) and ASP.Net. Experience with legacy ASP and VB6. Multi-Threaded application development Background with Microsoft Windows 2000 / 2003. Background managing IIS web services supporting web sites and web services Quality Assurance and Performance Testing of applications. JavaScript, VBScript
