Sr. Technical Analyst - Solaris/Linux

Major Duties:
Support changes to existing hardware and OS (Solaris & Linux) infrastructure including patches, users, filesystems, and kernel parameters.
Troubleshoot hardware and OS problems including performance tuning.
Work with database and application teams to gather requirements for new projects and expansion to existing applications.
Perform hardware and OS capacity planning for existing services and provide recommendations to application owners.
Support existing server infrastructure in an on-call capacity as part of a team rotation.
Contribute to Comcast Solaris standards discussions and documents.
Communicate effectively with peer employees and senior management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
BS/MS in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent work experience in Solaris or Red Hat Linux system administration.
Experience:
Three to five years experience as Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux systems administrator – at least two in a senior role.
Experience in designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and tuning Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux systems in a medium to large enterprise environment.
Experience with Veritas Storage Foundation and Cluster Server a plus.
Experience with VMWare a plus.
Experience with both Solaris and Red Hat Linux a plus.
