Sr. Technical Support Specialist - Washington, DC

As a Sr. Technical Support Specialist you will be responsible for the network routing solution in Washington DC.  You will be required to monitor alarms and troubleshoot the problem through to resolution, perform on-going maintenance routines,  interface with PSAP management and provide regular reports on system performance recommendations for system improvement and reviews of technical issues and status. Some travel may be required to support new installation at various sites. REQUIREMENTS:• Advanced Computer Skills • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems. • Understanding of LAN/WAN ( networking)• Working knowledge of TCP/IP• Understanding of telephony architecture and operation• Radio knowledge an asset but not required.• Knowledge of SS7 • Telecomm knowledge of analog trunks, T1, DS3, DACS, ISDN and related hardware.• Experience with Telecom testing equipment: T-Berd, Digismart etc.• Must have excellent interpersonal skills• Must be able to interface with both technical and non-technical customers• Must be enthusiastic and an “ ambassador” for the company• Have an aptitude for learning• Must be willing to travel (up to 10% of the time)• Must have the ability to work independently• Must be willing to be available on a 24X7 basis as required.   Must have excellent troubleshooting skills EXPERIENCE:• Field service experience specifically in installation and repairs• Experience dealing with Telco’s.• Project Management of installation projects is beneficial Desired experience with PBX/ACD’s in particular AVAYA EDUCATION:• College or university level in a technical discipline preferred. Qualified candidates should apply directly to our web site at http://www.plantcml.com/ Careers / Sr. Technical Support Specialist – Washington, DC.
