Windows and UNIX System Administrator
Seeking a Systems Administrator with Windows and UNIX for a contract to perm position with one of the leading wireless companies. Responsibilities Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems using stack traces Build, maintain, and deploy new Windows and UNIX in-house applications across multiple environments Install and configure systems/software unassisted Debug system services Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members Provide senior level technical support for Windows/UNIX related project activities Build and modify systems to meet project and user requirements. Participate in design reviews Configure and tune hardware and software to insure optimum performance and resource utilizationQualifications3 to 7 years experience in a large Windows (strong ) and/or UNIX (proficient ) experience - system administration and application level experience WebLogic or other J2EE Platform Experience is a must Advanced proficiency with network concepts and utilities including DNS, TCP/IP, etc Database proficiency with Oracle and/or SQL Server administration Prior test or production experience in a 24x7 support environment Proficiency with monitoring tools Proficiency with Domain administration/AD Need to understand conceptually SAN and hardware configuration Configuration Management or Version/Source Control experience (PVCS, Star Team, Harvest, etc) a plus Display strong inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills Be self-motivated and able to meet objectives with little or no direct supervision Weblogic and UNIX Skills are a must Experience in large-scale enterprise software development lifecycle Knowledge of RDBMS is mandatory, SQL, Unix, and previous billing experience (preferably with Amdocs application) and/or software support experience Strong skills needed in technical consulting. Strong analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques, in-depth knowledge of the business unit s functions and applications and a broad knowledge of system and technical alternatives Self directed and able to perform task with minimal supervision Proficient with Microsoft Project, Visio, Oracle, Unix, and Microsoft Office Preferred Skills Weblogic and UNIX Skills are a must Previous experience with Amdocs Enabler Platform, Test Director, Configuration Management or Version/Source Control experience (PVCS, Star Team, Harvest, etc) a plus Prior test or production experience in a 24x7 support environment.
