System Engineer

 

Overview: CTO office patents and Licensing Group

 

Responsibilities

Develop and generate solutions to system engineering issues, both within the Sierra Wireless products and within technology areas of interest to Sierra Wireless' future.

 

Analyze technology areas and identify green fields of interest to Sierra Wireless.

 

Generate disclosures and patent applications relevant in areas identified.

 

Assess patents for potential acquisition, conduct valuation analysis, auctions, etc.

 

Identify technology investigation area of interest.

 

Propose and develop prototypes to allow general assessment of technology viability.

 

Requirements

 

Engineering background in electrical and computer engineering with knowledge and experience in wireless data.

 

5-10 years experience

 

Communications networking, radio technology, cellular data technologies, cellular standards knowledge, software architecture knowledge is an advantage.

 

Additional knowledge in intellectual property and patent process is preferred.

 

System engineering experience is preferred.
