Systems Engineer

General Responsibilities:

Works on problems of moderate scope/complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.  Regularly exercises judgment to determine appropriate action.  Responsible for contributing to the completion of specific programs, projects and commitments established for the work unit while operating under the general direction of a manager.  Requires specific knowledge of profession differentiated by skills, education, experience, level of complexity and degree of autonomy.  Typically requires 4-6 years of related experience with a BS degree; 2-4 years experience with an MS.

 

Major Duties & Functions:

The Systems Engineering function is responsible for defining detailed product requirements to be expressed in Functional Requirements Documents which are; 1) drawn from requirements expressed by Product Management in documents such PRD’s and 2) Working with Product Development, QA and Tech Pubs to ensure that the requirements that are documented are understood. They are responsible over the course of the implementation phase to ensure that the requirements are meet through activities such as participation in design reviews, reviewing design and test documents

 

Qualifications You Must Have:Requires telecommunication domain experience in some of the following area's Metro Ethernet, Sonet, SDH, VoIP, IPTV and Wireless.Be able to work independently as well as in a team Bachelor's degree in either Engineering or Computer Science Must be located in Manchester, NH.

 Additional Qualifications:Knowledge of OSS platforms a big plusProject Management SkillsSome software development skills or backgroundKnowledge of Granite Inventory and other Telcordia Technology software products
