­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­GENERAL PURPOSE:  The successful candidate in this position will interact with PCs, Servers, and Telecommunications networks on a daily basis.  The successful candidate will have experience in the planning, support and troubleshooting of voice and data communications, fostering and perpetuating positive carrier and vendor relationships, performing PC repair / replacement / upgrade / imaging as needed, and assisting with server implementation / migration / upgrade / update.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Participate as a cross-functional member of the US technical team.

·  Develop and maintain communication, hardware, and process documentation

·  Manage PBX and AD user MACD Maintain existing Lucent Definity/Prologix PBXs and associated network across North America.

·  Assist in the design specification and deployment of new PBX technologies.

·  Coordinate with data and voice telecommunication vendors for service, MACD and maintenance.

·  Coordinate with hardware vendors for service, MACD and maintenance.

·  Assist in all aspects of ACT’s telecommunication network, including installation of new service and maintenance of existing service

·  Assist in all aspects of ACT’s bridging infrastructure, including deployment, upgrade, problem resolution, documentation and RCA.

 

 

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Participate as a cross-functional member of ACT’s Global Technical team.

·  Support, maintain, upgrade and provide issue resolution and RCA for audioconference bridging equipment.

·  Assist as needed in the support and maintenance of Videoconference equipment.

 

·  Assist in development and implementation of disaster recovery and escalation procedures for ACT’s North American telecom network

·  Perform PC trouble-shooting and problem resolution as required

·  Perform server trouble-shooting and problem resolution as required

·  Other technical support as needed

 

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

None. This is not a supervisory position, though functional in a matrix environment that necessitates peer management as it relates to projects or tasks.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

·  Knowledge of Lucent Definity PBX equipment

·  A thorough knowledge of telecommunications especially in the area of call routing, ACD systems, forecasting and scheduling, and communications disaster recovery

·  Experience with WAN networks, including Frame Relay, MPLS, Voice over IP, and Cisco Routers

·  Knowledge of telecommunication protocols

·  Ability and willingness to work as a team member

·  Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment

·  Skill to diagnose and resolve technical anomalies and difficulties

·  Ability to work well under pressure.

·  Ability to work effectively with geographically and culturally diverse global team members.

·  Exception written and verbal skills

Education or Formal Training:

·  High School degree or GED.

·  Minimum Two years college/university with Associates degree, preferably in a technology-oriented field of study.

·  Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

 

  Experience:

·  Three years relevant work experience

·  Two years in technical support of PBXs, including programming and ACD routing

·  Additional technical experience with Cisco routers, network topology, and familiarity with the OSI Model
