Talent Management Director
Go America is strategically located in a highly competitive market. Our objective of providing communication services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing gives us the opportunity to employ motivated and sincere professionals. The Human Resources Director will work across a region serving as a strategic business partner to assigned Managers to ensure that overall company goals and objectives are met through proactive and effective talent planning. The Director will work with the SVP Talent Management to build people initiatives and programs that will be used as best practice across all operating offices and communication centers. He/she will work to ensure smooth and effective operations within the company - integrity and compliance of all company policies, employee wellness, company and office morale, recruitment/staffing, and overall community relations. The Director ensures that his/her immediate department employees and process are managed effectively and will also work as part of the National Talent Management team to add value and innovation whenever possible. This position also serves as an active member to all local Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities, networks and associations in order to bring ‘best practice’ industry standards as well as positively represent GoAmerica in the community. The position reports to the SVP Talent Management and will be part of a national Talent Management team. Management:§ Serves as part of local management teams § Helps implement and direct national Talent Management practices across the company§ Supervises any local Talent Management staff, partners with National Talent Acquisition Team§ Supervises any/all Contract employees within the department§ Leads /guides/directs all Employee Relations and general Talent Management meetings§ Brings innovation and imagination to existing programs and process, looks to reshape/improve Helps to manage any merger and acquisition research and applicable post merger integration.Performace Management:§ Sets and drives annual Performance Appraisal process and ensures 100% of employee base has Career Development Plans (goals and objectives) completed. § Trains and promotes strategic Quarterly Talent Planning practices with Managers to ensure staff goals and objectives are revisited, measured and rewarded when applicable§ Provides overall employment coaching and counseling in the following areas: talent assessment, talent chess boarding, department transfers, timely and accurate review process leading to promotion, general employee performance and merit Employee Relations:§ Partners with Managers to ensure the company practices proactive, strategic performance management process (proper employee on-boarding, set up of 90 goal assignments, timely performance appraisals) § Helps to implement/nationalize GoAmerica best practices in his/her office - culture programs, rewards and recognition, etc§ Handles all employee relations activity for assigned offices - department head/employee goal setting and career meetings, documents and provides disciplinary actions, handles mediations and warnings and sets future improvement goals for staff members§ Counsels managers to assure proper disciplinary action and adherence to legal organizational policies§ Handles all terminations (consults/coaches/counsels Managers on terminations to determine and communicate severance terms and packages)§ Guides exit interview process with Hiring Manager Training:§ Identifies training needs for their locations§ Plans, develops and implements internal training programs in tandem with management team§ Manages outside training consultants and helps to build modules in targeted areasQUALIFICATIONS: § Bachelors Degree – HR Management, Business or IO Psychology preferred§ 12+ years of progressive Human Resources Management (preferably in a communications and/or professional services environment)§ 5+ years in proven, successive staff supervision§ Ability to manage process and people across multi-state locations § Ability to influence change across muti-site locations § Ability to travel (up to 25%) and be physically and otherwise present§ Proven track record with mergers and acquisitions and post integration of process and practices§ Proven track record developing/implementing successful HR programs§ Proven track record working with Sr. Management in a ‘business partner’ relationship§ Broad-based exposure to all Human Resources areas (including recruiting, salary administration, benefits, employment law, training and counseling)§ Proven track record building strong working relationships with key management in multi-office location§ Ability to manage multiple processes, programs, people in a very fast paced, ever changing environment§ Proven track record managing/analyzing/reconstructing HR process, programs and procedures§ Exposure to multi-language environment at plus§ Exposure to Deaf and Hard of Hearing culture a significant plus§ Start-up experiencing building HR systems a plus It's Great to be Purple!
