Position Summary
Our client, headquartered in midtown Atlanta, is the leading provider of mobile messaging and marketing applications for enterprises and carriers. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our Technical Support organization. This is a great entry level opportunity for new Comp Sci or Engineering Graduates!
As one of our Technical Support staff, you will be responsible for providing email and telephone support for Clients products and ASP solutions to our customers. You will develop Clients platform expertise to assist our customers by answering product/API questions, resolving technical issues, providing requested information and improving our solutions’ quality and usability.
You will actively work with mobile device platforms (e.g., PalmOS, PocketPC and Symbian), to include UNIX servers and RDBMS technology. You’ll be required to draw upon Clients product skills, backend systems administration skills, coding skills and networking skills to help customers maximize the use and value of Clients products.
This position provides you with a career path within the Technical Support organization as well as opportunities to branch out into other areas of the company (e.g., Client Services, NOC, QA, Development, etc.).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop a deep understanding of company solutions Assist with the isolation and resolution of issues associated with company solutionsProvide best practice knowledge to end clients building mobile marketing campaigns.Work closely with the other internal departments (e.g., NOC, Development, Engineering, and Client Services) to escalate problems and enhance reliability and supportability of company solutionsRequires flexible work hours to accommodate our Support coverage hours Provide extended 24x7 support for key customers as needed
Required Qualifications: Engineering or Computer Science BA/BS degree or equivalent experienceGPA 2.8 or better as applicableBasic hands-on experience with SQL and UNIXExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) - You will be working directly with clientsStrong analytical/problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications: Co-Op or part-time business experience working with computers Teachers Assistant experience during undergraduate studiesSolaris (UNIX) administration experienceOracle or Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS experienceApplication development experience (Java, Microsoft Visual C++, SOAP, etc.)Help Desk or Technical Support experience
Tech Support positions are on a short and long week schedule. You would be working in 12 hour shifts (40 hours on average). Eventually this will move to a traditional 40 hour 5 days a week position.
