TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICE TECHNICIAN

 

Our fast growing Telecommunications Company is seeking a Part-Time individual (20 hours plus), located in the San Rafael, CA area, who has experience with business or industrial telephone systems (PABX, KEY, Inmate, etc.) and maintenance of associated internal wiring and sets. Experience with computer hardware and repair is a plus but not required.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Our Service Technician will be responsible for inmate phone systems in a correctional facility (escorts are provided for safety). The qualified candidate will need to be available to respond to any call outs at the assiged site (backups are provided during scheduled and emergency absences).

 

Repairs to wiring infrastructure, sets, and troubleshooting of dialtone/T1 problems to the demarc, is a major part of the job. Your expertise in this area is essential.

When required, repairs to the call processor systems are performed under the direction of factory-trained experts working remotely, with you acting as hands, eyes, and ears in the field.  Any experience troubleshooting problems with T-1’s, routers, LANS, Channel banks, or VOIP, is a PLUS. You are always backed up by a team of telecomm professionals to help you get the site up and running on any computer.

 

This is an interesting and diversified position that touches on many aspects of Telecommunications as well as the Corrections industry 

 

ALSO REQUIRED:

 

Ability to write, speak and communicate fluently in the English language.

Be physically capable of performing all maintenance and administrative tasks

Have a valid Drivers’ License

Be able to pass a 10 year background check

Be able to pass Security checks required by facilities we service

Minimum educational level: HS Diploma or equivalent
