Job Posting ID: 1319Working Location: Hagerstown, MarylandEmployment Type: Full-Time RegularPosition Summary:1.Pro-actively monitor the conditions of TTC&M, Full Time Video, DVB, SCPC Data services, GMS and GXS Teleport and Terrestrial facilities during normal operations, including the status of system alarms of all active components in the uplink and down-link chains as well as status of systems alarms for all station plant and facility subsystems. 2. Pro-actively report to Intelsat Data Operations Center (DOC), Intelsat Carrier Management Center (CMC), Video Operations Center (VOC), Satellite News Gathering (SNG) or Satellite Control Center (SCC) any alarm occurrences of the contracted earth station facilities or Tier 1 access connection, any alarm occurrences of the TTC&M ground network systems, IOT or various monitoring systems which may be service affecting.3. Respond to pertinent actions requested from DOC, CMC, VOC, SNG and SCC as part of Intelsat escalation procedures established for these network service, with a response time of 15 minutes or shorter;4. In case of service interruption, commence as soon as practical repair and restoration actions, either as requested by controlling party or as locally determined at the facilities such as to meet a mean time to restore service of 1 hour or shorter.5. Conduct any local tests on any relevant part of the facilities, upon request and under direction of controlling party, following documented diagnostic procedures.6. Provide maintenance of equipment in the form of unit replacement with provided spares upon request by DOC, CMC, VOC, SNG and SCC with a response time of 1 hour or shorter, and shall perform requested replacement activity within 4 hours; 7. Provide assistance with scheduled preventative maintenance routines as directed by the PMI administrator and/or shift leader 8. Investigate and propose equipment or system enhancements to improve reliability, increase efficiency, simplify operation, or reduce overall operating cost.9. Assist with the implementation of new services to include: racking and stacking of equipment, cable fabrication and testing, documentation generation and updating.10. Produce reports and updates for any service status change, maintenance planning request, fault repair/restoral and engineering change process.Minimum Requirements:**THIS POSITION REQUIRES ITAR ACCESS: Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident*** Four years of hight school, vocational school or equivalent* 1-3 yrs experience as described as follows:1. Current working knowledge of Satellite Earth Station technologies relating to the operations found in TTC&M, Video Broadcast or Data Communications facilities.2. General working knowledge of ancillary plant systems such as HVAC, UPS, electrical switchgear and generating systems. 3. Current operating knowledge of antenna drive systems, TWTA and/or Klystron amplifiers, Up/Down Converters4. Current operating knowledge of communications modems, modulators and demodulators and video platforms5. Ability to use basic functions of industry standard test equipment such as spectrum analysers, frequency counters, synthesized generators, oscilloscopes, BER testers, Vectorscopes and multimeters. 6. Fluency in English, both verbal and written.7.
