Komyo America has an opportunity to join our organization in the role of Assistant Manager of Operations of our new distribution facility in Loudon, Tennessee.  The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, leadership and communication skills and be capable of creating and fostering a positive work environment.

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager of Operations, will assist the Manager of Operations with the day-to-day distribution center activities, adjusting schedules as necessary in shipping, warehousing, inventory and receiving.  Responsible for distribution center accuracy, productivity levels and facility order. Coordinates distribution center and cross dock activities under the direction of the Manager of Operations and trains associates to ensure well-coordinated receiving, sorting, staging, transfer, put away, picking and shipping plans.

 

Essential Job Functions

§  Ensures World Class service in daily interactions with all levels of personnel within the company, customers and suppliers.

§  Responsible for the daily scheduling of a 100+ associates to ensure proper staffing in order to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner.

§  Directs the day-to-day activities of the distribution center.  Including shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, etc.

§  Responsible for distribution center/cross dock accuracy, inventory control, receiving errors, picking errors, and warehouse cubing of parts.

§  Generates distribution center productivity reports, adheres to budget requirements, and works toward obtaining company objectives and goals.

§  Responsible for maintenance of distribution center equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs.  Ensures that the distribution center personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.

§  Responsible for distribution center safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees within the regulations of all OSHA, local and state regulations.

§  Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to management in order to upgrade and maintain distribution center productivity and efficiency.

§  Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure proper interviewing/hiring, training, development and evaluation of staff.  Counsel and use corrective action as necessary.

§  Recommends modifications or innovative ideas to Manager of Operations in order to improve parts handling procedures.

§  Maintains attendance, punctuality and overall performance of associates to ensure that production

requirements are effectively met.

§  Monitors warehouse associates’ conformance with company policies and procedures including safety

requirements.

§  Promotes teamwork and cooperation of department in the achievement of goals and objectives.

§  Designs and implements work methods and procedures to increase productivity and improve service

within an assigned department.

§  Exercises considerable supervisory latitude in ensuring productive warehouse operations.

§  Ensures uniform application of policies and procedures to all employees.

§  Works within departmental budgets.

§  Disciplines employees in accordance with company policies and procedures and in coordination with management.

§  Has broad and strategic management responsible for entire warehouse area.

§  Acts as backup for the Director of Operations.

§  May perform other assignments from time to time as directed by management.

§  May travel to meet company commitments.

§  Has regular contact with users of company computer systems and equipment.

§  Has regular contact with Technical Support department

§  May have contact with suppliers of computer parts and equipment.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: Five (5) years of Management/Supervisory experience in a distribution environment.

§ Basic accounting and strong math skills.

§ Able to work First or Second Shift as required.

§ Knowledge of AS400 System preferred

§ Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred

§ Must be able to remain on feet for the majority of work hours.

§ Must be able to follow established practices and procedures in a disciplined manner.
