Driver Service Manager

Dynamex Inc., a leading provider of same-day delivery and logistics services in the United States and Canada, is searching for an experienced, highly organized individual to join our team as a Driver Services Manager. The ideal candidate will meet this responsibility by using effective recruiting techniques, retention techniques and providing excellent customer service to the driver force in the branch.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:In conjunction with the Business Center Manager, establish a driver availability goal for the Business center.Determine the number of deliveries per day that will yield a reasonable earnings level to the driver and result in expected service levels to the customer.Divide the number of deliveries per day into the average number of jobs per day the business enter completes to determine the driver availability goal.Responsible for employing effective methods in stimulating applicant flow  that is sufficient to  meet the needs of the business center.Responsible for the development of new methods of applicant flow stimulation, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of each method.Employs both traditional (newspaper, electronic advertising, referral programs) and non-traditional methods (flyers, signs) for ensuring adequate applicant flow of qualified drivers.Responsible for understanding Dynamex’s recruiting strategy and the selling points that differentiate Dynamex from competitors.Responsible for understanding the use of and employing the recruiting tools established by Dynamex.In consultation with the Business Center Manager, determine a general profile of the type of driver candidate the business center will engage.Responsible for completing thorough screening of driver applicants, who are being considered for engagement.Responsible for developing and delivering orientation programs to new drivers, emphasizing meeting delivery expectations of customers, good communication and safe vehicle operation. Responsible for developing methods and guidelines for giving great customer service, Dynamex business practices, use of communications tools and products. Responsible for establishing good open communication with new drivers and informing them of the business center process for resolving their issues or getting their questions answered.Responsible for monitoring driver settlement on a daily basis and to ensure that all drivers achieve a satisfactory level of revenue.With guidance from the Business Center Manager, responsible for establishing driver settlement expectations that, when achieved, ensure high levels of driver retention.Responsible for assisting drivers in resolving work related problems.Responsible for maintaining the proper driver file, documentation at business center level and for providing proper driver file documentation at corporate level.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 Excellent knowledge of the city2 years in the courier industryGood verbal communication skills
