Job Duties:



Local Movers/Helpers

 

To assist in preparing goods for safe transport and storage and in moving them efficiently, safely, and with no loss or damage.  Assists the lead person by loading/ unloading supplies, equipment and materials into/ from the vehicle; protecting facilities and goods from damage during relocation and storage; removing goods from/ placing goods in offices, warehouses, storage containers/ shelving and other locations; inspecting and documenting the condition of goods; preparing goods for safe transport/ storage; labeling goods for transport/storage; removing debris from job site; and performing other tasks as needed and directed by lead person.

 



The helper will follow the directions of the lead person efficiently, cheerfully and safely using good customer service skills and cost-containing work practices.



 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

1. Must have a valid Texas Class C driver’s license and a clear

driving record.

 

2. Must be able to:

 

- frequently bend and stoop;

- to lift and stack items weighing up to thirty pounds over head;

- lift and carry items weighing up to sixty-five pounds to chest height;

- lift and carry items weighing up to sixty pounds at shoulder level

     without help;

- lift items weighing up to one hundred pounds to waist height and

  carry them fifty feet;

- carry items weighing up to sixty pounds up/down stairs and ramps

  for a distance of one hundred feet;

- lift items weighing up to one hundred and fifty pounds to a height of

  ten inches;

- climb ladders, stairs, and ramps; and perform generally heavy labor, as

    described, for up to ten hours or more per day in all types of weather conditions

    and temperatures.
